I am currently have a resurgence in crafting madness. I want to do and make as much as possible. It helps that I now have more time, so the sewing machine has emerged from its hiding place. The crochet needle is being put to good use whilst I watch TV in the evening once the last of the dinner and kids-to-bed shenanigans are done with. Once again, I am seeking new supplies from craft shops and browsing through mags and online for inspiration. There is always an endless source of online inspiration....and it keeps me busy. Quite often, it's less crafting and more net-ogling at other crafters/bloggers/Pintrest etc. But that's not an awful thing at all...

Here are some of my latest creations, using scrap fabric and vintage buttons, which I've accumulated over the years. Finally found a good use for them.... new cushions, another beanie. I worked out how to use the automatic button-hole maker on my sewing machine, and now instead of zippers, I'm using my collection of vintage buttons. Soooooo much easier. Zippers equal battles and curses.

Op-shop finds
Op-shop hunting is also a pleasure. Sometimes there are the best treasures...particularly for books and yarns. And since I haven't stepped into an Op-shop in nearly a year, I thought these few bargains will sate my need for a while: |

Random Photos
I wish I was as committed to taking good photos as my husband. Here's his latest captured on a Nokia N8 mobile phone using custom settings. He's the sort that knows everything about aperture and lighting, lens size, sepia, chromatic etc and their effects on the final photo. He loves using traditional film on his "old-fashioned" non-digital camera too, but is finding it hard to find replacement film (that isn't too expensive). If we had room, I'd recommend he builds himself his own studio/dark room.
Maybe I should read the mobile phone manual too so I know how to get different settings that create images like these; mind you, I suspect it's more than just knowing settings:
Rather good pictures I thought. I suggest he takes up photography more frequently because it seems to calm his mind. As we all know, crafting and expressing one's own creativity is VERY good for us. Especially for me. What have you done that is creative lately or relaxing? Or have you made something yummy to eat and wish to share? I'd love to hear from you.
